Es ist 1915, und Tina und Biel entdecken einen wertvollen Schatz auf ihrer Insel Menorca und entscheiden sich, ihn als Tauschmittel zu verwenden, um zu ihrer Mutter nach Algerien zu reisen. Der größte Wunsch der beiden Geschwister ist es, in das afrikanische Land zu gelangen, und um dies zu erreichen, bitten sie Rom um Hilfe, einen einsamen Mann, der niemandem Rechenschaft ablegt.
